Hi, Meet Denise
My name is Denise Cousins, but many know me as Coach D. I am a Certified Life, Wife, and Prayer Coach, keynote speaker, author, and leadership development facilitator who equips women to navigate complicated seasons with faith, clarity, and strategic next steps. My work is centered around wives, single women, and leaders who love God but feel tired, overwhelmed, confused, or standing at the edge of a crisis. I didn’t learn how to pray strategically because my life was perfect; God used my own imperfect circumstances and real-life challenges to teach me how to slow down, separate the noise of a storm from His voice, and receive His blueprint solutions. That is where the grace on my life was birthed—not to offer blanket promises or try to perform work that only God can do, but to help you stop praying out of panic, recognize your part, and move forward with intention.
With over 28 years of marriage and more than 15 years of operational and coaching experience, I bring both lived truth and executive grounding to every space I enter. As the founder of D Cousins LLC Coaching, host of my podcast, Plugging In With Prayer With Denise, and leader of the Battle Tested Women community™, I partner with individuals and organizational leadership teams through workshops focused on communication, emotional resilience, and grounded decision-making. At the core of everything I do is my faith in God and His Word. In 2023, I gave my life to Christ—and I never looked back.
After battling breast cancer, divorce, financial hardships, familial and romantic trauma, I reached a point where I could no longer continue living in chaos. I turned to God, and although extracting myself from the life I had created wasn’t pretty, what He exchanged it for was my deliverance.
I had to humble myself and admit that I didn’t know everything—and doing things my way for over 50 years wasn’t working. Starting coaching sessions with Denise became a pivotal part of my growth. Through her guidance, I found the courage to confront, heal, and grow.
Then I joined the Battle-Tested Women community, and I found my people. We pray together, war in the spirit for one another, walk in nature giving thanks to God, fellowship over holiday dinners, enjoy outdoor activities, and grow together through our Zoom book club.
Today, I have peace. I have joy. I have purpose. And I have women who stand with me.

Growth in God
I had to share this with you all before I go to bed.
I had a great coaching session with Coach Denise this evening. As we discussed where I was and where I am now ....God gets all the glory.
I was dealing with fear in my life in a few areas of my life but God. Learning how to effectively and fervently pray for myself using the tools and frame work from Coach Denise. I can say that the strong hold of fear has fallen off of me. I am truly walking in newness not fearing anything or any one but fearing God as in Proverbs 9:10.
I can truly say that I have seen the change in myself and just amazed at how, when you truly submit your will unto God and are ready to do the work. God will shift you into to who you are in Him.
